An incomplete pendant whetstone of uncertain date. It is formed from a medium to dark grey fine grained and micaceous stone, perhaps a micaceous schist, and is square in section, rectangular in form, terminating in old breaks at one end. The surviving end is triangular in profile with a worn hourglass perforation, an attempted second circular perforation visible on one side of the complete end. Description: A gold cross reliquary pendant, with surviving back-plate. The front face of the cross is engraved with a Crucifixion. Areas of deep engraving above and on either side arm would originally have held enamel. The reverse is engraved on each arm with a flower and foliage, and with a small cross in the centre. Both sides would originally have been enamelled. The ends of each arm of the cross are concave with scrolled or curled corners. A small gold wire peg survives in each angle of the cross. A bi-conical stone bead of uncertain date. It has a central circular aperture. This bead measures 16.25mm in diameter, 20.55mm in height, 7.02g in weight. There is a similar example recorded on the PAS database (KENT-3704E3). Dr Kevin Leahy writes: it is likely that this find represent a fossil sponge known as 'porosphaera' which, although used as beads during some periods of the past, are natural in origin.

An incomplete copper-alloy Colchester derivative Polden Hill type bow brooch, missing spring, pin, foot and catchplate due to old breaks. The semi-cylindrical wings are extended and folded round to form a short fully enclosed section at both ends this holds a surviving fragment of the axis bar at one end. The wings are decorated with a transverse groove at either end and a diagonal groove running from this to the bow. Copper alloy brooch, Colchester derivative Polden Hill variant (folded wing, Eastern Group), variant Polden Hill rear hook spring attachment. Upper half only, missing pin, some corrosion. The spring has 10 turns. The axis bar is held in 4mm wide enclose ends and a rear hook holds the chord. The wings have a concave moulding and rib with intervening grooves at the terminals. A cast copper-alloy complete button-and-loop fastener of a form which represents a hybrid of Wilds' Class II and III (Wild 1970 138-139, fig 1). Wild dates Class II to mid 1st to 2nd century AD and Calss III to AD 50-150, this example is therefore likely to be broadly of a smilar date. Copper alloy brooch, Colchester derivative type with Polden Hill variant spring attachment. Missing foot with catchplate, spring, pin. The spring was held by a rear hook and by enclosed wing ends, 6mm wide - these contain an iron-like corrosion, but it does not react to a magnet. The wings have a single angled groove and five grooves at the terminals, with slight notching of some of the intervening narrow ribs.
