An incomplete copper-alloy pin, only the head and a stub of the shaft of this pin survive. The head is biconical in shape, with a flat tip, it measures 6mm in height and 7mm in width (at its widest point- the centre). It is decorated with ring and dot decoration, there is a central ring and dot on the flat tip and a two circumferencial rows of ring and dot around the rest of the pin head. An incomplete copper-alloy pin, the shaft of this pin is incomplete due to an old break. The pin head is biconical in shape, measuring 12mm in height and 10mm in width, at its widest point, it is circular in cross-section. The shaft is 20mm in surviving length and circular in cross-section, measuring 2mm in diameter, it is tapering towards its missing tip. This pin is Roman in date and fits into Group I (Cool 1990, 151-152, fig 1), pins with knob heads, which were used throughout the Roman period.

A silver pin, the shaft incomplete due to an old break. The head is cuboid in shape, with the corners cut off, measuring 6mm in length and 5mm in width. There is a single dot on each lozenge-shaped face. The shaft is circular in cross-section, measuring 7mm in surviving length and 1.6mm in width. There is no collar at the junction of head and shaft. Total length 13mm, weight 1.06g.

An incomplete silver head dress pin. The lower half of the shaft of this pin survives, it measures 55mm in length and its tip is now bent. The shaft is rectangular in cross-section and tapers to a point, it is 5mm wide at its widest point. At the missing end of this pin the beginning of a rectangular perforation can be seen. Both faces of the shaft are decorated with an incised design, consisting of rounded zig-zags and V-shaped incisions. On one face the letters 'EM' can also be seen, which may be initials.

Fragment of an 8th century Anglo-Saxon mount or link-pin, silver and gilded. Originally of round shape, divided in four fields by a cross with rounded terminals, pierced for mounting/linking. Two additional holes, possibly suggest reuse of the piece, or repair. The decoration shows a chipped-carved interlaced motif. An incomplete copper-alloy pin. The pinhead is spherical measuring 7.5mm in diameter, it has a central circumference groove. The pinhead tapers into a rectangular shaped moulding measuring 8mm in length and 4mm in width. This rectangular moulding has a central circumference groove and therefore each face has two 'panels' which are further decorated with single diagonal grooves through their centres. A complete copper-alloy pin, this pin is bent almost in half and the shaft is to split at the point of the bend. The pin head is biconical in shape measuring 8mm in diameter, at its widest point. Beneath the head there is a collar. The shaft is circular in cross-section and swollen at its upper end. It tapers towards its slightly pointed tip. When unfolded the shaft would have been c93mm in length. This pin is most likely to be middle Anglo-Saxon in date.

Copper-alloy pin. The head is a flattened knob, 7.5 mm in diameter and 4 mm thick. Below are two substantial grooves with a narrow ridge in between, and below this it widens to the top of the shaft. The shaft is circular in cross-section and 3.5 mm in diameter at the top. It tapers gently to a stepped break, showing that the shaft was made by hammering together two narrower pieces of metal. The shaft has a worn hexagonal cross section and is 21mm in length and tapers to a point. Similar pins have been discovered at Colchester and have been identified as Roman furniture nails.

A complete gilded silver spherical pin head, measuring 18mm in diameter. The base of the head has a circular hole, where the missing shaft would have been attached. The pinhead is decorated with three filigree circles, on each half, each with a smaller filigree circle within them with a projecting circular knop within these. There are also projecting circular knops inbetween each of the larger filigree circles. 16th century in date.
