A fragmentary gilded silver artefact, probably part of a pinhead. The fragment is rectangular in shape with one tapering end; both terminals are now missing.
The front face is decorated with a gilded interlace design in a central panel. The design consists of two conjoined circles with crosses within them and, beneath these where the object narrows, an adjoining spiral-like motif. The panel has a plain border decorated with tiny circular indentations.
The back face is flat and undecorated with some rough scratches.

Description: A complete silver pin, with a hollow spherical head. The head is 8.05mm in height and 9.04mm in width, it is gilded and decorated with a delicate incised design, when viewed from above there is a ten petalled flower, with five outer petals set behind the inner five. The field behind the petals is decorated with cross-hatching. There is a plain band around the centre of the head and then on the lower half another ten petalled flower with cross-hatching around and the shaft of the pin projecting from its centre.
The shaft has a circular section and tapers to a point.

Small silver pin with polyhedral head, missing most of its shaft. The head is a rough cube, measuring 4.8mm square at the top; it is 4.2mm tall and there is no collar between the base of the head and the top of the shaft. The corners of the cube have been cut off, leaving tiny triangular facets. All the faces are undecorated. The shaft is circular in cross-section and is 2.2mm in diameter at the top, where it tapers strongly to begin with; it then runs straight down to the fresh unpatinated break, at which it measures 1.5mm in diameter. Total length 15.0mm. Weight 1.0g.

A silver gilt pin head of early post-medieval date, probably 16th century. It is decorated with filigree with a band around the widest part dividing it in two. Above the band are three evenly spaced filigree spirals, each with a pellet at the centre. Additional pellets separate each spiral and a final pellet is on the top of the pin head. Below the band there are two filigree circles, one on each side of the pin head. Description: An incomplete silver middle Anglo-Saxon pin, missing the pointed tip of its shaft due to old breaks. This pin has a spherical head decorated with a series of curving radiating grooves; it is 'wrythen-headed.' Beneath the head there are two circumferential grooves forming a collar. The shaft is circular in cross-section.
Dimensions: The head has a diameter of 5.71mm, shaft is a maximum of 1.97mm in diameter and the total surviving length is 27.44mm. It weighs 1.345g.

An incomplete silver-gilt dress-pin with hollow cast spherical head and applied filigree decoration. The hollow pin head is divided into two hemispheres by a transverse band. Early Medieval silver pin.
Description: An incomplete silver pin, the head and a fragment of the shaft now survive. The head is polyhedral in shape, that is a solid cube with the corners faceted/cut off. The head has 13 faces, the upper face and the four main faces of the cube are lozenge-shaped and are decorated with a lozenge-shaped panel with a cross within it, there are traces of niello within the arms of the cross. Where the head joins the shaft there is a collar. The shaft is circular in section and incomplete due to an old break.
