An incomplete Roman copper-alloy finger ring dating to circa aD 200-300. It has a faceted octagonal bezel with steep flat walls. In the centre is a bluestone gem setting with a central motif of probable corn ears. Only one of the shoulders survive. The extant shoulder consists of a narrowed, constricted section before it flares outwards. From here, the flared segment tapers inwards before terminating in an old break. An incomplete Roman copper-alloy finger ring dating to circa AD 100-300. The extant elements of the ring consist of the bezel with intaglio setting, shoulders and a small portion of the hoop, now survived by short stubs. The bezel is flat with damage on one side. An oval setting of probable nicolo (onyx) projects from the bezel with a blue coloured stone top. On its front face is a crudely engraved figure walking left. An incomplete copper-alloy spiral ring probably of Bronze Age period, dating to c. 1500.1150 BC. It is circular in plan and it is formed by three coils of an oval cross-sectioned metal wire; both ends are broken and worn. The surface is very abraded and heavily pitted. A similar object has been recorded on the PAS database as HAMP-7556B3 and SF-761FF6 , see also examples of spiraloid rings in the Near Lewes hoard (SUSS-C5D042) and the Ockham hoard (SUR-B41DB6), both Middle Bronze Age in date. An incomplete copper alloy Roman finger ring. Only the outer part of the ring survives. To either side of the bezel are flattened, outwards curving D-shaped shoulders with small sections of the much narrower hoop attached to each of their outer ends. The bezel has an oval socket extending from its outer face, 4.49mm above the line of the hoop. The edges of this socket are bent out of shape and its interior contains traces of a whitish material, which probably held an intaglio in place originally. A fragment of a Roman copper alloy finger ring with glass intaglio. Only the outer part of the ring survives. The band is D-shaped in cross-section and expands from the shoulders to the outer section, which is the widest part of the ring. In the centre of the outer face of the outer section there is an oval recess, which contains an in situ glass intaglio. Unfortunately the outer surface of this intaglio is cracked and damaged, obscuring any design that may have been engraved on to it originally. A complete cast copper-alloy finger ring dating to the Roman period, c. 200-300 AD. This is a Henig type VIII ring, with a sub-oval bezel, from the sides of which keeled lenticular shoulders ( each demonstrating central raised midrib) extend before themselves transitioning into a 'D' sectioned hoop. Preserved in good condition with an even brownish patina, the ring measures 23.81mm in diameter at its widest point, 2.38mm thick at the base of the hoop, c. 7.2mm wide at the widest point of the shoulders, and 6.66mm wide at the widest point of the bezel. A fragment of a copper alloy Roman finger ring. Only one shoulder survives. This expanded towards the bezel and is D-shaped in cross-section with a rounded outer face. The bezel is missing, but the surviving edge suggests that it was oval in shape and recessed, probably containing a glass or gem intaglio originally. The fragment is heavily corroded with a green patina and very worn breaks.
