A complete but distorted gold probable finger ring. Consisting of a simple hoop with a rectangular section. The outer face is smooth however in one area there are tiny traces of possible vertical grooves, these may be original decoration or due to damage/wear, they are extremely faint.
Discussion: This finger ring is very undiagnostic and could possibly be Roman or later in date, but it is impossible to certify that it was deposited prior to 1708 as stipulated in the Treasure Act.

A finger ring examined under the Treasure Act by the British Museum. Surface metal analysis conducted at the British Museum indicated an approximate gold content for the ring of 50% and silver content of approximately 47%; it weighs 4.78 grams. The ring has a flat, ovoid bezel drawn out at the shoulders into two narrow, wiry strips tapering to points, which were originally wound together to form the hoop, but are now separated; diameter of bezel, 20 mm (max).
