The centre of the circle is quartered in two opposite solid angles and two opposite sunken cells, which might have housed enamel inlaid. The object is moderate worn. Cf NLM-63A878, NMS-15F679. A near complete vase headed linch pin of later Iron Age to Roman date. It has damage to the edges of the head and foot, as well as only partially preserved and incomplete inlaid settings, but is otherwise complete. The copper-alloy head has a flattened disc-shaped terminal that is D-shaped in cross section with a large central circular recess on its outer/upper face. This has a central circular indentation and is surrounded by a raised circular border decorated with multiple transverse notches to give the impression of a corded border. Around the outer edge of the border is a slight g

An incomplete cast copper-alloy terminal from a linch pin of Iron Age date. It has an incomplete cone-shaped head that tapers towards its base and is missing one side and the open, attachment end due to old breaks. The head has a vertical ridge or crest along its back face, a transverse moulded groove at the attachment end and possible traces of very corroded moulded decoration on the surviving side, the precise form uncertain due to post-deposiitonal wear. An incomplete rectangular socket is visible running vertically through the centre of the terminal that would have originally accom…

Copper-alloy linch pin, now rather corroded. The head is nearly circular, 15 x 17 mm, and has a flat top decorated with a broad groove around a central depression. Below, the head tapers down to a collar, and then the circular shaft continues to taper for a little way before flaring out to 14 mm in diameter. It then tapers again and is slightly bent at the tip.
