An Early Medieval silver penny of Offa of Mercia (757-96); heavy coinage (c.792-6), moneyer: Ciolhard/Ceolheard (North 321; Chick 203); mint: London. Refs: North 1994: 89; Chick 2010; also recorded as Naismith and Naylor 2012, no. 20. The coin shows some signs of corrosion to both surfaces and appears to be missing most of the outer edge of the flan.

Martin Allen (Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge) comments that; 'This is the first coin of the Lydford moneyer Goda in the Long Cross type recorded by EMC. There are however 19 coins of this mint, moneyer and type in the SCBI database, which may all be from hoards'.
