Description: A fragment of a probable Early Medieval gold disc-shaped pendant or bracteate dating to circa AD 450-500. The extant piece consists of the loop and a small portion of the disc. The loop is sub-rectangular in plan and broadly cylindrical in section with a hollowed interior. The cylindrical loop is wrapped/soldered with fine beaded wire at both ends. Description: An Early Medieval gold spangle dating to circa AD 450-500. The extant element is trapezoidal and flat. It has no decoration on either face. A small punched perforation is situated at the narrower end of the piece which would have acted as a suspension loop.
Length: 14.5mm; Width: 7.4mm; Thickness: 0.2mm; Weight: 0.20g.
Discussion: The piece would have been suspended as part of a larger set forming a spangle, similar to a more complete piece: 2009 T440. Spangles were more typically made from copper alloy and would have been suspended from necklaces, pin heads…

An incomplete cast copper-alloy sleeve clasp of probable Early Anglo-Saxon attribution dating to the Early Medieval period, c. 500-600 AD. Only one half of the clasp survives, its partner now missing due to old damage.. It is formed of a bar with flattened square terminals and a rectangular flattened midsection topped with a smaller rectangular boss, each terminal itself being decorated with an incised saltire motif. An incomplete cast copper-alloy Middle Anglo-Saxon Ansate brooch of Weetch's type XII.Aiii; 'Ansate brooches with tri-lobed leaf shaped terminals', the so-called 'Pommeroeul type' (Thorle's group XII A2), dating c. 800-950 AD. In plan the body of the brooch is rectangular in form, with four leaf-shaped motifs on each side of the bow and terminals to give a symmetrical scheme of decoration. An incomplete copper-alloy Early Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) disc brooch, dating to c. AD 450-550. The brooch has a front decorated with a central circular perforation, at least two blind-drilled dots (at 2 o'clock and 6 o'clock) and a pair of closely-spaced fine concentric grooves encircling them, about halfway between the centre and the edge. The reverse of the brooch still has a semi-circular pin lug surviving, set at right angles to the edge of the brooch and with a central circular hole now blocked with iron corrosion. An incomplete copper-alloy Early Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) small-long brooch. The head comprises a central rectangular plate with three sides extended in three flat semi-circular knops; one of the knops is heavily damaged. The fourth side extends in the arched bow, which has a D-shaped cross section and tapers towards the break. The bow is thicker in the middle. The front of the headplate is decorated with a central ring-and-dot, while the bow has in its front a very abraded longitudinal groove. The reverse of the headplate has the integral lug, which has stains of iron corrosion.
