An incomplete cast copper-alloy Middle Anglo-Saxon Ansate brooch of Weetch's type XII.Aiii; 'Ansate brooches with tri-lobed leaf shaped terminals', the so-called 'Pommeroeul type' (Thorle's group XII A2), dating c. 800-950 AD. In plan the body of the brooch is rectangular in form, with four leaf-shaped motifs on each side of the bow and terminals to give a symmetrical scheme of decoration. Each of these 'leaves' is broadly crescentic in plan, with those on the terminals demonstrating a further decorative moulding which fills the gap inbetween them- thus creating a tri-lobed moulded mo…

A mostly complete cast copper-alloy small-long brooch of probable Anglo-Saxon attribution dating to the Early Medieval period, c. 450-480 AD. Only the main shaft of the pin is missing, with the rest of the object preserved intact.
