Buckle tongue/pin fragment of shield-on-tongue or fiddle-shaped type, possibly made from silver; crescent-shaped base-plate below which are side notches and then a sub-triangular element with concave edges and a carinated upper surface; the pin section has broken away; traces of iron corrosion from an attachment feature on the flat reverse as CDD 022.

Silver buckle, burnt and partially melted, probably during a cremation ceremony. The buckle has a large oval frame and pin which are attached to a small flattened semi-circular plate.
Length 39mm, width 27mm, weight 17.4g. X-ray fluorescence at the British Museum indicated an approximate silver content of 79%.
This type of buckle is well known on the Continent from the late 5th century, and examples are very occasionally found in early Anglo-Saxon contexts.

Small silver hooked tag with circular plate decorated with an engraved spiral. The outer ring of the spiral has four pairs of transverse grooves arranged to form a cross. There are two small sewing holes towards the top of the plate, which flank the uppermost pair of grooves and cut through part of the spiral. All of the grooves are made from very fine rocked tracer work. At the bottom is a small complete sharp bent-under hook, with four transverse grooves at the top; these grooves are simply engraved.
