An incomplete copper-alloy Roman brooch of Colchester-derivative with double pierced lug. It is missing its pin and foot due to old breaks. The wings are semi-cylindrical in form, undecorated but faceted on their front faces, and separated by an integrally cast double pierced lug. This holds in place a copper-alloy spring and spring chord, of whcih 8 coils survive missing the pin due to old breaks. An incomplete and abraded Colchester Derivative type, hinged sub-type bow brooch dating c. 43-120 AD. It demonstrates a winged head, with an internal axis bar and hinged pin. The bow is broadly 'D' shaped in section with a slightly dished back, on the front of which is a prominent crest that extends from just below the head to the base of the bow where the foot is truncated in old damage along with the catchplate. Preserved in fair condition with an even greenish patina, it survives to a length of 30.27mm, 15.07mm wide at its head, and 2.55mm thick at the midpoint of its bow. It weigh…

An incomplete continental 'Augenfibel' or Eye brooch of Iron Age date. It is missig half of the spring and the pin due to old breaks.
