A clipped silver longcross penny of Edward I (AD1272-1307). Obverse shows a crowned head facing with trifoliate crown with spearheads between the fleurs. The drapery consists of two small wedges with a star in the middle. There is a cross pattee initial mark. Obverse legend reads ED[WR] ANGL DNS HYB.
Reverse shows a long cross with three pellets in each quarter. There is a large comma-shaped apostrophe after the L. Reverse legend reads VIL'/NOV/CAS/[TRI]. Mint is Newcastle. The die axis is 10 or 11 o'clock.
