An incomplete copper-alloy buckle plate of Medieval date. Broken off at the fold, with a design of a lion walking facing forward, in a raised rectangular linear frame with stippling, added by multiple punching; with evidence of guilding. There are circular holes for three rivets, now missing. A similar example can be found in Egan and Pritchard, 1991, pg 110-112, plate 72, 500.  Length: 26.89mm Width: 33.40mm Weight: 6.97g

A fragment of a copper-alloy late early medieval, or Viking Age, cheekpiece, cheekpieces were worn in pairs and each is pierced with a round hole through which the ends of the jointed iron bit projected.  Only a fragment of the flat plate and of the central hole survives as well as the knob which originally was at the base of a loop, the latter is now missing. This cheekpiece seems most likely to be Williams Type 1, it is very worn with no visible decoration evident. (Williams 2007). Length: 51.14mm Width: 26.81mm Weight: 13.63g

A complete copper-alloy Roman Colchester derivative hinged brooch. It has moulded wings and grooves on the bow, complete except for the pin. The wings have incised five transverse lines with a pronounced central humped bow. The flat-backed bow has two grooves either side of the central band which has a moulded groove at the top. A complete lead steelyard weight of possible Roman date. It is biconical in shape with the corroded remains of an iron rod protruding from either end. The surface of the metal is heavily corroded. Although steelyard weights were in use from the Roman to post-medieval periods, biconical examples with iron extending from both ends tend to be of Roman date. A complete Medieval to Post Medieval lead-alloy spindle whorl dating to circa AD 1100-1550. It is broadly circular in plan and plano-convex in section. The central hole is circular with an internal diameter of 8.65mm. The piece is heavily worn. Spindle whorls can be hard to date accurately as they remained in use for a long period of time.  The weight of the spindle whorl is suggestive of a thick linen or wool fibre being spun, as there is a direct relationship between the weight of the whorl and the thickness of the resulting thread. An incomplete cast copper-alloy signet ring dating to the Medieval period. The finger ring has a D-sectioned band which is broken, with just one shoulder remaining. The oval bezel measures 13.70 x 10.7mm. The bezel is decorated with incised decoration consisting of a crowned capital I flanked by palm fronds. They date from the 15th - early 16th century AD. It weighs 2.87g.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy Medieval buckle frame and plate. The buckle frame resembles a Meols type 2, D shaped buckle, dating to AD 1250-1350. The frame has a flat, expanded outer edge, with engraved transverse grooves. The frame has a narrowed and offset bar with an in-situ copper-alloy pin.  The buckle plate is square with four in-situ copper-alloy rivets and one hole where the rivet would have been.
