Copper alloy brooch, Colchester derivative type with rear hook spring attachment. Missing sping, pin. The back of the wings has corrosion on the right hand side perhaps the remains of solder to hold the spring. The wings have a double concave moulding with narrow groove in between. Copper alloy brooch, flat lozenge shaped. Missing pin, damaged hinge lugs and catchplate; damaged margins and missing applique from front. The pin was hinged on two close set lugs. The plate is 1mm thick, slightly thicker along the band between hinge and catchplate. The front has a whiteish irregular deposit, stained red in patches, which is probably the solder for an applique front sheet plate. It has suggestions of a quadrilobed design. Width 24mm, length 26mm. This looks like an early plate type. Riha (Augst,1979) no.1576 is very similar, and grouped by her with the mid-1st century …

A complete (though broken into three parts 12 weeks after discovery, now glued back together again) large hollow-based flint arrowhead. All-over re-touch, off white/cream coloured flint, which appears to be the natural colour rather than patination. The form is relatively straight sided with slight splaying at barbs. The concavity of the hollow base is relatively slight. Lenght 85mm, width 37mm and thickness 9mm. Hollow based arrow heads, although present in the early Bronze Age (circa 2500-1500 BC) contexts are rare in East Anglia. Ay other example as large as this has not …

A copper-alloy hook piece of an early post medieval circa 16th century book clasp. Rectangular in shape measuring 44.52mm in length and 17.74mm in length. The hooked terminal has a surviving projecting hook and the other attachment terminal flares outwards and has a V-shaped notch in its end, it also has two parallel copper-alloy rivets through it. There are then three decorative circular holes, and a ring and dot motif in the centre of the clasp. On the back face at the hook end there is an integral rivet.

A complete cast copper-alloy spherical (crotal) bell. Measuring 46.67mm in height and 38.98mm in diameter. This bell has a rectangular shaped suspension loop with a worn circular hole through it. The upper half has traces of oval petals, radiating from the base of the suspension loop and there are also two opposing circular sound holes. A complete copper-alloy stud, 38.94mm in total length with a roughly circular head, slightly domed in its centre, measuring c27mm in diameter. It has a bent square sectioned integral shaft, 6.30mm in width, which tapers to a point. This stud is similar to post medieval examples found in Norwich which are believed to be circa 1500-1600 in date and used on doors and chests for strengthening purposes (Margeson, 1993, 146-7, fig 108, no 1090).

An incomplete copper-alloy folded sheet medieval circa 14th century buckle plate. Only one half now survives the rest is missing due to an old break. The plate is roughly rectangular in shape with a tapering rounded attachment end, it measures 23.94mm in length and 19.40mm in width. An incomplete copper-alloy probably medieval or early post medieval spoon, 154.14mm in total length. The bowl is round and distorted, it is 51.03mm in width, the stem is flat and rectangular in section and shape and tapers towards its tip, which is incomplete due to an old break, the tip may have had a shaped terminal knop originally.

A small fragment of a Roman speculum (a brittle high-tin bronze) mirror, dark grey in colour with one shiny surface, the back face is pitted and not smooth or shiny and has an incised line across it. One straight edge may be original the others are all old breaks. It measures 20.05mm by 15.31mm in size.

A small fragment of a late Roman bracelet rectangular in shape and curvilinear, measuring 29.76mm in surviving length and 5.41mm in width. The front face is decorated with two transverse grooves flanking a row of three dots, at the complete terminal end, and then beyond this is a row of diagonal grooves.
