A fragment from the edge of a Roman roof tile (Tegula) preserving the flanged outer edge and L-shaped cross-section. It measures 75.49mm in width, 37.72mm in length, 11.42mm in thickness (at tile, 32.02mm at flange), and 71.12g in weight. This tile is of Roman date, c.43-410 AD.

A fragment of Roman fired clay roof tile (tegula). One corner of the tile survives intact preserving the L-shaped profile of the outer edge, which has a constriction at its complete corner to enable the joining of tegulae. It is fired from an oxidised sandy orange fabric with relatively smooth surfaces, terminating in three directions in old breaks. The fragment measures 52.29mm in length, 73.30mm in width, 32.39mm in thickness (at flange; 21.35mm at tile), and 171.87g in weight. This tile fragment is of Roman date, c.43-410 AD.
