A complete Medieval copper-alloy strap end dating to circa AD 1150-1450. A one piece strap end, It is rectangular in plan with a small pointed knop at the terminal end. It is cast in one piece and split at the end. An intact, circular copper-alloy rivet is positioned at the attachment end.

An incomplete Medieval copper-alloy strap end dating to circa AD 1150-1450. The extant piece consists of a single sheet of a composite strap end. It is broadly shield shaped with a pointed terminal. At the attchment end is a central intact copper-alloy rivet which would have held the two sheets together. The front face is undecorated.
Similar strap ends are recorded in Egan and Pritchard 1991: pg 139, fig 90, no 640.

An incomplete Medieval copper-alloy strap end dating to circa AD 1150-1450. It is a three piece strap end with sheet spacer. It is rectangular in plan with a small pointed knop at the terminal end. At the attachment end is a central, circular intact rivet joining the two sheets and the spacer together. Both faces are undecorated.

An incomplete Medieval copper-alloy strap end dating to circa AD 1150-1450. The extant piece is a forked spacer from a medieval composite strap end. It has a broadly oval knop in the shape of an acorn, underneath of which is a transverse rectangular collar. Only one prong of the spacer is now intact. At the segment between the spacer and the terminal is a drilled circular rivet hole.
Similar strap ends are recorded in Egan and Pritchard 1991: pg 144, fiog 94, nos 680-682.

An incomplete Medieval copper alloy strap end, probably a buckle or clasp plate, dating to c AD 1200 - 1500. These are difficult to date closely unless decorative features are extant. It consists of a folded rectangular sheet with parallel sides, the two ends of which would originally have met at the split attachment end but one of which now falls short, due to an early break. A complete Roman to Early Medieval copper-alloy strap dating to circa AD 300-450. At one end is a double loop with circular apertures. From here emerges a triangular in plan plate with flared outer edge. Its edges are bevelled. The reverse is split towards the attachment end, enabling the positioning of fabric. At the attachment end is an in situ iron rivet which would have held the fabric intact. Iron staining surrounds the rivet on both the front face and the reverse. The front face is undecorated.

An incomplete copper-alloy early medieval (late Anglo-Saxon) strap end. An elongated sub-trapezoidal shape, expanding more rapidly at the upper attachment end, which is wedge-shaped. The reverse is flat while the outer face is convex. The outer face is decorated with two groups of transverse grooves, four in the centre and three towards the lower end. An incomplete medieval strap end consisting of one remaining plate from the original. The plate is rectangular with the end nearest to the original belt attachment having a wavy shape with a rivet hole just below the end which is in the centre of two parallel lines below the wavy end. The distant end is rounded and the plate is undecorated. The plate is a dark brown colour.

An incomplete Medieval strap end dating to circa AD 1350-1400. It is a composite strap end with forked spacer. The plate is circular with a voided centre. It is flat with rounded edges. A sub-rectangular elongate knop projects from one end. It has a rounded terminal. A forked spacer emerges from the other end.
Similar examples are recorded in Egan and Pritchard 1992: pg 140-141, nos 651-652.

An incomplete Medieval copper-alloy strap end dating to circa 1150-1450AD. The extant piece consists part of one plate. It is sub-rectangular in plan and rectangular in section. The attachment end is missing. The terminal is V-shaped. One face is heavily pitted and abraded by post-depositional damage.
The terminal consistent with examples in Egan and Pritchard 1991: 131- dating broadly to between 1140-1450 AD.
