A copper-alloy crest-holder from a Roman legionary helmet ('Coolus' type) of the 1st century AD, measuring 27mm in total height. The terminal of this holder is conical in shape, with a base diameter of 19mm and measuring 16mm in height. There is a central slot across the it, which is rectangular in shape with rounded corners, measuring 4mm in width. At the tip of the holder, which is divided in two by the slot, there are two opposing circular perforations, measuring c2mm in diameter.
