An incomplete copper-alloy medieval vessel lug. The zoomorphic terminal has with two wide slanting grooves for ears, two vertical grooves for eyes, a V-shaped groove on either side for the open mouth, and a moulded groove running around the top to form an up-turned nose. A hole runs right through along the long axis from the back of the head to the open mouth, and this would have held the end of a rectilinear handle. An incomplete Medieval to Post Medieval copper-alloy chafing dish dating to circa AD 1400-1660. The extant element consists of the complete drop handle. It is rectangular sectioned with bevelled edges and broadly T-shaped. Attached to the horizontal bar at the lower edge is a drop handle lug which is has a circular loop with circular perforation in the centre. The outer face of the loop has a median arris. An incomplete copper-alloy medieval vessel handle and lug. The object comprises part of a drop handle and an in situ lug that would have attached it to the vessel originally. The section of handle is sub-square in cross-section and L-shaped overall. Its shorter end terminates in a large zoomorphic lug, while its longer end terminates in an acorn-shaped knop projecting at a slight angle behind the break. The lug is rectangular-sectioned and broadly oval in plan. A circular loop allows it to be attached to the drop handle. The base of the suspension end has three incised decorative grooves. The terminal has two circumferential incised grooves and a flat base. An integral oval projection protrudes from the base enabling the lug to be secured to the now missing chafing dish handle.

A fragment of a Medieval to Post Medieval copper-alloy chafing dish or furniture drop handle dating to circa AD 1400-1600. The fragment comes from the outer edge of the handle and is v-SHAPED. Both faces are faceted and there is an abrupt break across each end.
Similar handles are illustrated by Margeson (1993: pg 80, nos 489-491) from excavations in Norwich, who notes that they appear to have been used both as chafing dish and furniture handles during the late Medieval to early Post-Medieval period.

An unidentified copper alloy object of probable medieval to post-medieval date. It consists of a curved, flattened strip, rectangular in cross-section. One end terminates in an abrupt break and the other in a flat anthropomorphic terminal shaped like a human face. One edge of the terminal has simple notches forming the impression of hair, nose and mouth and both faces are decorated with additional engraved lines forming hair and an eye. A small circular hole runs through the point where the terminal joins the strip and is filled with iron corrosion.
