An incomplete Early Medieval copper-alloy balance dating to circa AD 850-1065. The extant element comprises one arm of a folding balance. The object would have been attached to crossbar, which would have have had another arm attached to it. The extant arm is comprised of a broadly rectangular shaft with straight edges and flat faces, the extreme edges of which are bevelled. At other terminal end is a loop for a scale pan. An incomplete copper-alloy probably Early Medieval balance, dating to AD 900-1100. It consists of a fragment of the central oval cross-sectioned bar and one tapering folding arm. The central bar is broken at one end, where it has two projecting prongs as a remainder of the slotted portion, which housed the missing arm. The opposite end is complete bearing the unfolded arm, which is secured by means of a copper-alloy rivet. A fragment of a copper-alloy Medieval balance of the folding type, dating to AD 1250-1300. It is an oval cross-sectioned arm, which tapers towards a circular loop at one end; before the loop there is a raised collar. The thicker end has an angled edge and the old break damaged the central protrusion, which is slightly visible at the centre of the edge and that was the hinged segment once inserted into the central section of the balance. An incomplete copper-alloy Roman to Early Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) balance, dating to AD 43-700. It consists of an oval cross-sectioned bar, which tapers towards both ends. A fragment of a copper-alloy medieval folding scale set, dating to the period c. AD 1350-1400. The central "bar" was made up of two plates riveted together, with the arms in between. One of these plates is now missing along with the central and one side arm. The remaining plate is broken at one end halfway through the rivet hole, at the other end a rivet attaches the remaining plate and arm together. The plate measures: 23.71mm remaining length, 5.09mm width, 1.17mm thick. The remaining arm measures: 43.67mm in length, 4.66mm in width, 2.53mm thick.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy balance dating to the Early Medieval period, c. 450-650 AD. One arm and the separate pivoting clip are missing, though otherwise it is preserved intact. At the midpoint of the arms is a triangular projection which originally consisted the pivot-point of the balance. At its base is a now obscured circular aperture where the separate clip would have been attached. An incomplete copper-alloy Roman equal-armed balance, dating to AD 43-410. The central body of the balance has a flattened oval cross-section tapering towards both ends. On the upperside of the central body there is part of the lug which originally had a hole for suspension; the lug has been riveted through the body of the balance.
