A complete bone amulet, of probable Roman date in the form of a winged phallus. The pair of triangular shaped wings project from either side of the base of the phallus, their front faces decorated with horizontal zig-zag grooves at towards the front and vertical grooves towards the rear representing feathers. The phallus is straight, cylindrical in form, its head moulded and separated by deeply incised grooves that give it form. Copper alloy object, probably a hand and phallus amulet. Corroded particularly around fingers. Central pieced oval section has vertical ribbing on the front; projections to each side are flat backed; one is probably a phallus, while the other resembles an arm with a bracelet (?) and a hand, possibly clenched to a fist (the second digit looks fairly complete?). Length 43mm, height at centre 10mm, hole max diam. 7mm. Simple fist/phallus pendants are common in bone (Green 1976 Pl. 26 a, from Verulamium), no detailed parallel for central moulding etc located.
