A gold half noble of Edward III (AD1327-1377), dating AD 1361-69. The obverse depicts the king standing facing forward in a ship. He is crowned and armoured, holding a sword in right hand and a shield of England and France in left hand. The inscription reads EDWARD DEI GRA REX ANGL DNS HYB Z AQT. The reverse depicts a floriated cross with a fleur-de-lys at the end of each arm and an ornamented compartment containing the kings initials (e) in the centre. Inscription reads CIVI / TAS / LON / DON. The coin has a dark grey discolouration on both sides. The coin weighs 1.31 grams, 18.16 mm diameter
