A complete cast lead or lead-alloy spindle whorl of probable medieval date (c.AD 1200-1500). Description: The object is circular in plan and biconical in profile with curved faces and a large central perforation. The central hole has a larger diameter at one end than the other. An incomplete cast lead mount of medieval to post-medieval date (c.1300-1600). Description: The mount is in the form of a five-armed wavy star, two of which surive, the rest being stubs. Each slightly curved arm is sub-triangular in cross-section so that they are rasied at their centres. Smaller arms, inbeween these, are all broken off at their bases. The reverse of the mount is flat. There are two tiny circular indents on the left, and it is unclear if these are mirrored on the right. A complete lead spindle whorl of uncertain date. It is plano-convex in shape with a convex upper surface and a flat base. It is sub circular in shape with a central circular hole of internal diameter 9.2mm. The weight is 23.40mm in diameter and is 11.8mm thick. It weighs 34.68g. It has a light gray/white patina and is decorated with low bosses.  Objects such as these were used for a long period of time for a variety of functions with little change in form.
