A complete gold pendant with a red stone setting, most probably a garnet. The pendant is circular in plan and comprises a frame made from a sheet gold back-plate to which has been soldered a strip of gold sheet, with a strand of beaded wire along its lower edge (at the junction between strip and back plate). This frame encloses a pinkish-purple, cabochon-cut stone, also circular in plan with a flat back and domed front. Description: A complete gold and cabochon garnet pendant of 7th century date. The pendant is triangular in shape and the protruding pyramidal polished garnet is mounted onto a separate gold sheet back plate. Soldered to this back plate is the retaining collar for the garnet, which has a filigree border or trim. Description: A complete oval-shaped gold pendant which is set with a cabochon garnet with a grooved attachment loop. The back plate is plain and the grooved attachment loop soldered onto it. An openwork circular gold pendant. It is made from four concentric rings of beaded wire, 0.5mm thick, joined to form a 3mm wide band. A suspension loop of sheet gold has one end attached between the outer two rings, folded over to form a 3mm high loop and is joined to the other face at the same point but less securely. A complete gold necklace pendant in good condition. This pendant is lozenge shaped and measures 22mm in length and 16mm in width. It consists of a flat panel of gold with another strip of gold around its edge. The top corner of the pendant has a circular suspension loop, on the same plane as the pendant itself. Description: A gold cross reliquary pendant, with surviving back-plate. The front face of the cross is engraved with a Crucifixion. Areas of deep engraving above and on either side arm would originally have held enamel. The reverse is engraved on each arm with a flower and foliage, and with a small cross in the centre. Description: A complete gold bead pendant now squashed and distorted. The bead was originally spherical and is hollow; it has a gold rivet through its centre which terminates in a circular loop at the upper end, from which it could have been suspended. The upper edge of the bead has a single band of beaded gold wire applied. Dimensions: 3.20g in weight, 18.87mm in length, 13.17mm in width and 6.23mm in thickness.
