M. Henig, Corpus of Roman Engraved Gemstones from British Sites, BAR 8 (1974), ii, 79, no. 581, and pl. XVIII, described and illustrated the inset of the gold ring; and pl. XLI Series B included a view of the hoard, with pot and gold ring, in Ipswich Museum. The description ran: "Figure standing towards the front, very probably Mars or some other deity was intended, but the body has been gouged away (? deliberate defacement by a Christian owner). A complete gold object comprising a hollow dome with a projecting socket and separately-soldered back-plate. The dome is decorated all over its upper surface with filigree and granulation. In the centre is a raised circular setting comprising a strip of gold surrounded by a beaded wire collar, and set with a small blue glass cabochon. Around this is a lozenge-shaped field delimited by a single strand of gold beaded wire, which overall gives a cruciform effect. It has a plain band inscribed inside in lower case: Vertue makes love eteruall with a stamped capital B after; this is probably a maker's mark. Dimensions: Internal diameter: 15.90 External diameter: 17.81 Weight: 1.67g Height of hoop: 2.82 Discussion: The inscription within this finger ring is similar to that on other 17th century examples such as 2003 T223, from Wiltshire (Treasure Annual Report, 2003, 129, no 268).

A gold annular brooch dating to the Medieval period. The frame is circular in plan and 'D' shaped in section (flat back, curving front) with two opposed oval collets which taper towards the top, both now empty but once would have contained a cabochon stone. The pin is 'D' shaped in section (flat back, curved front) and is looped around a narrowing in the frame. Description: A complete gold bead pendant now squashed and distorted. The bead was originally spherical and is hollow; it has a gold rivet through its centre which terminates in a circular loop at the upper end, from which it could have been suspended. The upper edge of the bead has a single band of beaded gold wire applied. Dimensions: 3.20g in weight, 18.87mm in length, 13.17mm in width and 6.23mm in thickness.
