An early-medieval pale gold Anglo-Saxon shilling (thrymsa) of the 'Crispus' type (Sutherland type II.iii: Roman, Crispus/delaionia) dating c. 645-665/70. Ref: Naismith 2017: 55-6, pl.1 no.12; Gannon 2013: 93, pl.2 no.21. Obverse: helmeted and cuirassed bust right, CBIPVS[...]OB CAES. Reverse: crude wreath enclosing a cross on a base, limbs terminating in pellets-in-annulets, two crosses in the lower quarters, partly runic and latin inscription, delaiona CAES (the latter retrograde).

Description: A complete but squashed gold finger ring of earlier Roman date. The 'D' sectioned hoop is somewhat slender and has been (deliberately?) broken at its base, the two ends subsequently folded in on each other. The shoulders are plain, expanding into an oval bezel at their apex. The latter is decorated with the faint incised design of a palm frond, but is otherwise plain. Obverse: single wreath with pellet-in-annulet terminals, two back-to-back hollow crescents at centre, pellet-in-annulet each side. Reverse: horse prancing left, branch below, pellet-in-ring above horse's back, pellet between horse's head and forelegs, double pellet-in-annulet below branch. 'DVNOVALLAVNOS' (or garbled rendition thereof) above horse, inscription struck mostly off flan. See ABC no. 2392.

A gold hammered halfcrown struck for James I, dating c. 1623-1624. Tower mint, Third coinage, initial mark: lis. As North 2093. This coin demonstrates a circular piercing directly behind the bust, interestingly, a feature which is also present in an identical position on another halfcrown recorded by the PAS database (see HAMP-89C680).

Description: A complete gold signet ring dating to the Post-Medieval period, c. 1600-1700. It demonstrates a circular plano-convex sectioned hoop, with thin shoulders that expand rapidly into a large circular bezel. On the upper surface of the bezel, the initials 'I C', separated by a central lobed ribbon motif have been engraved, all the latter within an outer incised border. The decoration and inner surfaces of the ring itself are all incredibly worn, suggesting that this ring was worn intensively. A gold stater struck of the East Anglian Region / Iceni, dating to the period c. 50-20 BC, Rudd's 'Norfolk Wolf Left Type'. Obverse: Wreath motif with 'cloaks' and crescents. Reverse: Open-jawed wolf left standing on pelleted exurgal line with crescent and pellet motifs below, large pellet and triad of smaller pellets between legs. As ABC, p. 78, no. 1399; BMC (Hobbs), nos. 218-278. The coin appears to perhaps be struck from a debased gold alloy.
