An incomplete gold finger ring (Henig II/ Guiraud type 2A) of Roman date (c. 43-200).  Description: The ring is broken at the narrowest part of the hoop, opposite the bezel, and is misshapen. The hoop is pointed oval in cross section, thickening and widening gradually towards the shoulders which merge to create the bezel. The bezel has an oval recess for a now missing setting. Description: A gold finger-ring of late Roman date, c. AD 200-400, which has been squashed almost flat. The bezel has an oval collet for the oval intaglio (now missing). The setting has a border around it formed of a narrow projecting flange decorated with a ‘rope’ design. The hoop is a narrow strip that widens into sub-triangular shoulders with scalloped edges and two pairs of oblique grooves. Dimensions: Collet: 14mm by 10mm; hoop width: 2mm; weight: 3.15g. The ring is Henig type V/ Guiraud type 4e characterised by its wide, flattened hoop and rectangular bezel and dates to the second or third century. The shoulders of the hoop are decorated with ten applied globules of gold arranged in triangles and intended to represent bunches of grapes. Description: A complete gold or gold gilt finger ring of Post Medieval date. The bezel of the ring is sub-rectangular and set with a dark blue or black cut paste stone. 2006 T480: Post-medieval gold finger ring Date: 16th or early 17th century Description: Complete gold ring. The ring takes the form of a band with a significant groove around its circumference giving the impression of double bands joined by a central plain band of gold. Each of the ‘two’ bands is decorated with a mirrored design of running design of curlicues and diagonal bands. In the gaps of the design, some white enamel can be seen to survive.
