Obverse: Latticed square on two opposed crescents, projecting branch above and below, pellet in ring on each side. Reverse: Horse stepping right with open head, trefoil above, pellet in ring below. A gold uninscribed quarter-stater struck for the Eastern Region/Catavellaunii, dating c. 60-20 BC, Rudd's 'Harlow Wheel' type. Obverse: stylised wreath with pellet-in-ring at centre quartering coin, three 'cloaks' in one angle, mask motifs made up of crescents in other three. Reverse: horse running right, 'cogwheel sun' between legs, pellet-in-ring and annulet motifs around horse's hindquarters, 'wheel' motif above. As ABC, p. 124, no. 2463; Hobbs nos. 365-366. This is one of only a few examples of this type recorded through the PAS, see also BUC-336A21, NARC273.
