The backplate of a late post medieval gold locket. The remaining part of the locket is made from thin gold sheet. The outer face of the backplate has a stamped floral design with continuous leaf pattern around the edge which develop in five places as defined leaves towards the centre around an open lily type flower. There is a very small amount of copper alloy wire protruding from the rim which may have originally been part of the inside of a loop for hanging the locket or may just have provided a rigid inner framework for the edge of the backplate. Description: an incomplete and somewhat damaged gold finger ring dating to the Post-Medieval period, c. 1600-1700. The hoop is 'D' shaped in section and rather worn at its base, distorted on one side due to old damage. Description: A complete gold signet ring dating to the Post-Medieval period, c. 1600-1700. It demonstrates a circular plano-convex sectioned hoop, with thin shoulders that expand rapidly into a large circular bezel. On the upper surface of the bezel, the initials 'I C', separated by a central lobed ribbon motif have been engraved, all the latter within an outer incised border. The decoration and inner surfaces of the ring itself are all incredibly worn, suggesting that this ring was worn intensively.
