It is formed from a disc of sheet metal with a separate short strip of gold, 4.06mm wide and 0.64mm thick, soldered into a suspension loop at one side. A complete Early Medieval gold pin dating to circa AD 550-900. The head is flat and sub-oval, broadly heart-shaped, with two lobes projecting from the top.
