It has a grey/brown fabric with sandy inclusions, dark grey/black surfaces and a flattened, out-turned rim with slight lid seating. The rim measures 38.34mm in width, 20.33mm in length, 25.35mm in height, 6.08mm in thickness, and weighs 13.57g. It dates to the 10th or 11th centuries AD, c.900-1100 AD.

A rim sherd, possibly from an Early-Medieval Thetford type ware vessel, probably a jar or jug. It has a pale grey fabric with sandy inclusions, dark grey/black surfaces and a flattened, out-turned rim. The rim measures 27.78mm in width, 18.26mm in length, 20.74mm in height, 6.86mm in thickness, and weighs 7.64g. This sherd is possibly from a Thetford ware vessel, although the fabric is slightly unusual despite the form being relatively normal for this type of ware. A Roman pottery handle sherd. It is a fine orange micaceous fabric, with sparse red and black grog temper. It is a strap handle probably from a cup or small flagon, and could be a fourth century Nene valley or Colchester colour-coated fabric (coating now missing) and measures 17.4mm in length, 12.85mm in width, and weighs 1.61g.
