A Roman pottery bowl base. The fabric resembles Samian ware but has a highly micaceous temper. It is most likely an imitation, but does not resemble either Hadham or Oxford wares. The outer surfaces have the characteristic smooth red slip, rather worn, and the underside of the foot-ring has lost its surface completely. It dates to the third to fourth centuries AD.
