A Roman fragment of a ceramic terra sigillata (Samian ware) vessel dating to circa AD 43-300. It is a decorated body sherd of form Dragendorff 37 or 30. It is slightly curved in profile with a pink fabric. The fragment has a stamped decoration on the external face depicts a 5 leaf petal on the right handside. Both faces have surviving pockets of the reddish blow slipped gloss.

It has a soft, fine pale red-orange fabric with few visible inclusions apart from occasional poorly sorted rounded quartz. There are traces of a glossy orange slip on both surfaces.

In the space between the grooves are a series of crude transverse incisions running down the length of the surviving sherd.
