A sherd from the rim of a Roman vessel. The rim is slightly everted with a small lip along the outer edge. The fabric is hard and very coarse with multiple large voids and is tempered with frequent fine quartz sand. It has dark grey inner surfaces and core with a patch of oxidisation on the inner surface. An incomplete ceramic fragment of a roof tile, most likely daying from the Medieval to Post Medieval period with the possibility of it being of Roman date (AD 43 - 1700). The tile is 17.35mm thick with a shallow arch in profile, the top surface is smooth while the underside is very rough. The surfaces and the core are dark orange to red in colour. A body sherd of an incomplete Late Bronze Age to Iron Age ceramic vessel dating to circa 1000 BC-AD 43. It is broadly square-shaped in plan with uneven edges. The fabric is hard and coarse with moderate sub-angular white stone, <2.5mm. Amongst this are moderately distributed shell inclusions, <1mm. The exterior fabric is an oxidised light orange while the interior fabric is reduced dark grey. Length: 21.1mm; Width:18.9mm; Thickness: 8.9mm; Weight: 3.55g.

An base sherd from an incomplete Roman ceramic vessel dating to circa AD 43-410. A Flat base sherd from a Roman greyware vessel showing moderate quartz inclusions. The base of the inside of the vessel has a raised area within a circular ridge. The underneath of the base has clear striations indicating it to be a wheel thrown vessel. It is a dark grey colour on the inner and outer surfaces with a clear pink colour core. The fabric has a soft texture. Basal diameter: 64.18mm; Height: 26.04mm; Thickness: 12.49mm; Weight: 64.1g
