A Roman fragment of a ceramic terra sigillata (Samian ware) vessel dating to circa AD 43-300. It is a decorated body sherd of form Dragendorff 37 or 30. It is slightly curved in profile with a pink fabric. The fragment has a stamped decoration on the external face depicts a 5 leaf petal on the right handside. Both faces have surviving pockets of the reddish blow slipped gloss. Robert Hopkins notes: 'this design was used by potters/mouldmakers Secundinus I, X-5 and P-10.
