A sherd from the rim of a Roman vessel. The rim is slightly everted with a small lip along the outer edge. The fabric is hard and very coarse with multiple large voids and is tempered with frequent fine quartz sand. It has dark grey inner surfaces and core with a patch of oxidisation on the inner surface. An base sherd from an incomplete Roman ceramic vessel dating to circa AD 43-410. A Flat base sherd from a Roman greyware vessel showing moderate quartz inclusions. The base of the inside of the vessel has a raised area within a circular ridge. The underneath of the base has clear striations indicating it to be a wheel thrown vessel. It is a dark grey colour on the inner and outer surfaces with a clear pink colour core. The fabric has a soft texture. Basal diameter: 64.18mm; Height: 26.04mm; Thickness: 12.49mm; Weight: 64.1g

A base and body sherd fragment from a Roman South Gaulish Samian ware bowl. Form Dragendorff 37 dating from AD 160-220. The sherd has moulded decoration, consisting of foliatte chevron panels below a line of figures or animals whose complete form is not clear due to post depositional damage. The fragment has a pink fabric and is coated in a red slip on both the inside and outside.  Dimensions: Length: 73.12mm; Width: 58.74mm; Thickness: 10.24mm; Weight: 46.6g.
