An base sherd from an incomplete Roman ceramic vessel dating to circa AD 43-410. A Flat base sherd from a Roman greyware vessel showing moderate quartz inclusions. The base of the inside of the vessel has a raised area within a circular ridge. The underneath of the base has clear striations indicating it to be a wheel thrown vessel. A base and body sherd fragment from a Roman South Gaulish Samian ware bowl. Form Dragendorff 37 dating from AD 160-220. The sherd has moulded decoration, consisting of foliatte chevron panels below a line of figures or animals whose complete form is not clear due to post depositional damage. The fragment has a pink fabric and is coated in a red slip on both the inside and outside.  Dimensions: Length: 73.12mm; Width: 58.74mm; Thickness: 10.24mm; Weight: 46.6g.
