A sherd from the base of a Medieval coarseware vessel (MCW). The fabric is hard and coarse and is tempered with poorly sorted rounded quartz sand (<1.5mm) and black fragments (<0.5mm). It has light brown surfaces and a reddish-brown core. It appears to have been deliberately broken down into a circular shape - perhaps for reuse as a lid. Weight: 26.70g

A small assemblage of seven ceramic sherds dating to the Medieval period, c. 1150-1400. All are Medieval Coarseware (MCW) with fabric colours ranging from mid brown and grey to buff, all with frequent inclusions of sand visible. Represented within the assemblage are four body sherds, one rim sherd and two body/base sherds. One of the body sherds demonstrates the remains of a light greenish glaze intermittently covering its outer surface. Combined weight: 35.79g.

Fabric colours ranging from dark brown to blackish grey and light buff, frequent sandy inclusions. Two of the rim-sherds originate from heavily sooted vessels with flat-topped vertical projecting rims. Combined weight: 233g.
