A rim sherd from a wheel thrown Roman greyware ceramic vessel.  The rim sherd has dark grey inner and outer surfaces and a light brown core. The surface has a smooth texture. There are numerous mica and quartz inclusions visble. The sherd is too small to give an accurate estimate of the original diameter. An base sherd from an incomplete Roman ceramic vessel dating to circa AD 43-410. A Flat base sherd from a Roman greyware vessel showing moderate quartz inclusions. The base of the inside of the vessel has a raised area within a circular ridge. The underneath of the base has clear striations indicating it to be a wheel thrown vessel. It is a dark grey colour on the inner and outer surfaces with a clear pink colour core. The fabric has a soft texture. Basal diameter: 64.18mm; Height: 26.04mm; Thickness: 12.49mm; Weight: 64.1g

A base and body sherd fragment from a Roman South Gaulish Samian ware bowl. Form Dragendorff 37 dating from AD 160-220. The sherd has moulded decoration, consisting of foliatte chevron panels below a line of figures or animals whose complete form is not clear due to post depositional damage. The fragment has a pink fabric and is coated in a red slip on both the inside and outside.  Dimensions: Length: 73.12mm; Width: 58.74mm; Thickness: 10.24mm; Weight: 46.6g.

Due to the small size of the fragment it is not possible to estimate with any accuracy the original size of the vessel, although it would seem to have been a very large diameter, for instance consistant with that of a cooking cauldron. An incomplete copper-alloy escutcheon from an Anglo-Saxon hanging bowl of Early-Medieval date, c. AD 500 - 700. The main plate is drop-shaped with a small circular terminal at the lower end.
