A complete Roman base silver finger ring dating to circa AD 200-410. It is polygonal, comprised of eight facets (octagonal). The bezel has a moulded, broadly circular base silver setting projecting from its external face. The hoop is rectangular-sectioned and tapers gently inwards from the maximum width of the shoulders to a narrow base. The shoulders and hoop are plain. Diameter: 27.1 mm; Width: 9.4mm; Thickness: 5.3mm; Weight: 1.79g. Discussion: The form of the ring is consistent with Henig’s Type IX (1974) and Guiraud’s Type 9a (1989).
