A cast Medieval to Post-Medieval lead token of the Boy Bishop variety. Penny sized. Boy Bishop tokens were produced from the 1480s to probably up to 1534, on St Nicholas Day and are thought by some to have been carried by sea-farers. They appear to be specific to East Anglia (Bailey 2000, Finds Identified page 6). The diameter is 23mm and the weight is 2.71g.
