Obverse; Initials D M M within inner border, separated by sexfoils, 'DANIELL MORE IN Reverse; initials D M M within inner border, under which is the date '1663', 'SOUTHWALD GROCER Trade tokens were first issued in 1648 as a response to the lack of small change. They were suppressed in 1674 under Royal Authority. Daniel More is also known to have issued halfpenny tokens.
