A copper-alloy 16th century biface coin weight produced in Antwerp by Cornelius Janssen and dated to 1583 AD. It is flat, square in shape measuring 15.33mm in length, 15.21mm in width, and 2.86g in weight. The cross motif of the reverse face of this weight probably indicates its usage for weighing Spanish or Portugese coinage, although it falls a little under the standard weights for both the Spanish escudo (3.38g) and the Portugese cruzado (3.5g). See Withers and Withers, 1995: pp. 44, 60, 71.

A worn copper-alloy coin weight of Post-Medieval date. It is flat, square in shape and appears to have decorative motifs on only one face. The front face depicts a ship with very curved hull, tall central mast and seemingly a flag rather than the letters R or H flying from the aft/stern. The back face is extremely worn but there appears no trace of any distinguishing marks or decoration. The weight measures 14.35mm in length, 13.88mm in width, 2.08mm in thickness, and 2.62g (40.40 grains) in weight. Withers and Withers (1995: p. 20) note that uniface square coin weights depicting sh…
