A probable copper-alloy Roman hair pin or furniture nail - the shaft is corroded and incomplete and tapers to a point, with only a corroded head remaining. The head is globular in shape, with no visible collar. The surface is pitted and uneven. It is similar to examples seen in Crummy, 1989, pg 115, fig116 - globular, bun-shaped heads. An incomplete lead Seal Matrix of Medieval date (AD 1200-1300). The object is composed of a flat circular disc with an incomplete suspension loop at the apex of the reverse. A fragment of a copper-alloy Early Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) strap end of Thomas Class E, Type 1 dating to the period c. AD 1000 - 1100. It would have comprised of an open-work design, but all that remains is the attachment end. The attachment plate retains three entrally positioned rivet holes. A fragment of a copper-alloy Ansate brooch dating to 700-1000AD.  All that remains is a flattened circular terminal with incised circular border that contains a cross-shaped motif. It is encrusted with iron corrosion, and to the reverse has the remains of an iron pin. An incomplete copper-alloy decorative mount, of Medieval date. It is broadly cruciform in shape with the remains of an iron rivet or lug in the centre of the mount. Two bars extend out, with the remains of a third incomplete arm also present, and the two remaining arms have square-shaped terminals, one terminal is bend back on itself.  At the top of the cruciform is a decorative fleur de lis head. It is escallop in shape, and therefore likely to be religious as a shell is a common badge of pilgrimage and have been found in late twelfth0centruy contexts in East Anglia (Ashley, 2002, p 26). There is evidence of gilding on the front of the pendant, and in the centre is a globular headed rivet. There is stamped decoration visible, depicting the scallops of the shell. 4 fragments of a puddingstone quern of probable Roman date. Puddingstone is distinctive conglomerate containing rounded red flint pebbles within a siliceous matrix, the main sources of which lie in Hertfordshire.
