TIt measures 19.04mm in length, 10.11mm in width, 1.70mm in thickness (at blade end), and weighs 3.45g.
This is possibly a votive axe similar to other examples recorded through the PAS database (e.g. IOW-DFA401, FAKL-B0C080, SF-BD6BA3, SF-4AB493 or SF-105BC3). These examples suggest a possible Roman date for the object, however a later date cannot be ruled out.2121434104SF2024-03-06T12:18:03Z2024-03-26T20:25:53Z3.45PAS65E85EFB00103C1.710.1119.041914141425159341551515508SuffolkSuffolk CoastalRestricted AccessBurghRestricted Accessbands.shops.handy10SF-32F498Lead11094CompleteROMANx41218ROMANx41218x41218Metal detectorReturned to finderSF-85EFB0_66053a631e16b.jpg1269912images/laurasm1/EasternCertain12024-03-28T09:37:53.81Zfinds-11542231154223SF-85D429COSMETIC PESTLEROMANA complete cast copper-alloy end-looped cosmetic pestle dating to the late Iron Age or early Roman period, c. 1-200 AD.
