A sherd from the body of a Roman colour-coated ware vessel. Probably Oxfordshire red/brown-slipped ware. Hard, fine-textured fabric with poorly sorted occasion reddish iron ore and fine quartz sand. It appears to have a slightly laminar fracture, although the edges are heavily abraded. It has an orange core, slightly darker inner surface and traces of dark brown slip on the outer face. A fragment of a Medieval copper-alloy cooking vessel dating to circa AD AD 1200-1500. The fragment is part of the the upper rim of a vessel. It has an everted rim.  Cast copper alloy vessels were widely used for cooking over open fires from c.AD 1200-1550 (Butler, Green and Payne 2009:1). The fabric is fine and soft and the olnly visible inclusions are sparse rounded white quartz sand (0.5mm). A fragment of a Medieval to Post Medieval copper-alloy leg or foot from a jug or ewer dating to circa AD 1200-1700. It consists of the foot. It is broadly rectangular in plan with the the foot or base offset from the leg. A raised, longitudinal median ridge is present on the front face of the leg. The apex of the leg erminates in an old break. Cast copper alloy vessels were widely used from AD 1200 to 1700 for serving and cooking. Legs and feet and are commonly recorded finds. An incomplete probable Roman copper-alloy escutcheon from a vessel dating to circa AD 43-410. The extant piece consists of a hooked end with a convex outer face and concave innter face. From here is rectangular-sectioned bar which tapers inwards terminating in a rounded foot with straight edges. No decoration survives. A sherd from the body of a large late Iron Age to early Roman ceramic earthenware vessel. A thick-walled vessel with a very hard, coarse fabric tempered with spare poorly sorted white quartz (<2mm) and frequent red clay-like pellets (grog?). Dark brown core and surfaces with smooth outer face decorated with a series of parallel grooves. An incomplete copper-alloy medieval anthropomorphic vessel mount. The mount is in the form of a three dimensional female head. The face has simple eyes, nose and lips outlined with grooves. A coiffed hairstyle with a central parting and ears covered with braids is formed from moulding and grooves. A short cylindrical section projects from the lower end terminating in a break.
