Cast copper alloy looped strap end dating to around the 17th century.
It has been cast in one and has a split end to attach to the strap end with 1 rivet still remaining.
At the base there is a circular loop set perpendicular to the rest of the strap end. Above this is a sub-circular loop which has an upside down heart shaped perforation in the centre. At the base of this loop is a square projection which links it to the top loop. On the front of this are 3 circular punch marks, 2 above 1 below. There is a small projection on each side of the loop as it narrows towards the top.
