It is the lower end of the plate; it is sub-triangular in plan and has a transverse and old break on the upper edge. The front face of the terminal has a cast decoration depicting a downwards facing animal head; the fragment of the plate above that is decorated with three longitudinal oval panels. A fragment of a copper-alloy Medieval strap end, dating to AD 1270-1450. Only one sheet of the strap end survives; that is sub-rectangular in plan and slightly tapering towards the lower end, where there is waist followed by a three-lobe terminal. The attachment end has a circular rivet hole at the centre of the edge. The front face of the plate is decorated with four incised zigzag lines; two are on the long edges and the other two come down the surface in a zigzag pattern, crossing each other and creating a central line of lozenges. A copper alloy composite strap end of medieval date ( 1300-1400 ) made from two sheets that are riveted either side of a forked spacer.There is a small tongue shaped knop terminal. There is an old break around where a single copper alloy rivet would have been for attachment, now missing. There are two small copper rivets at the base end of the strap end joining the two sides together. The strap end has an even light brown colour.

The front plate is almost complete bearing on its back face the rivet at the attachment end. Only the lower half of the back plate survives and it is still secured to the front plate by one rivet.
