An incomplete cast copper-alloy stirrup strap mount (Williams Class A, Type 8) of Medieval date (c.1000-1100). Description: The mount is sub-triangular in plan with a zoomorphic head terminal at the apex. The decoration consists of a series of looping and bifurcating tendrils which end in lobes. The flange is not intact and is the piece that is missing. A minimal amount of iron corrosion is present on the reverse apex loop from the rivets. The object has a light red-brown patina. Measurements: length: 44.53mm, width: 30.81mm, thickness: 4.49mm, weight: 15.77g.

A complete Early Medieval to Medieval stirrup terminal dating to circa AD 1000-1100. Rectangular in plan and L-shaped in section, it has a socket at the reverse. T. The front face has moulded zoomorphic decoration. At the bottom edge are two nostrils comprised of opposed rounded knops . Above this a median bulbous protrusion. Above this is a moulded V-shape probably representing the ears.  A similar example is depicted in Williams 1997 fig 2a. A complete Early Medieval stirrup terminal dating to circa AD 950-1100. The terminal is hollowed with a convex front face. It is rendered in the form of a styled animal foot with evenly spaced trilobite projecting knops emerging from the front of the flat base. A moulded median transverse groove runs across the outer face.  The socket is rectangular in plan and C-shaped in section.
