An incomplete copper-alloy sexfoil mount of Medieval date. A flower-like sexfoil mount copper-alloy sheeting, faceted, domed with two separate rivets (one of which is missing) and central hole, dating to the 14th Century, similar examples can be found in Egan and Pritchard, 1991, pg 189, plate 119). There is evidence of white metal coating.

A complete cast copper-alloy Medieval Limoges figurine. The figurine depicts a three-quarter length standing figure that is cast flat and rectangular in form with the exception of the head. This is cylindrical with a flattened top and back face and has moulded decoration comprising of eyes, nose and mouth, the eyes consist of inlayed blue glass. The reverse of the face has an integral cyclindrical rivet for attachement. A complete copper-alloy Roman vessel mount dating to the 2nd-3rd Century. It is broadly rectangular and roughly semi-circular in cross section. The mount depicts a female head with stylised features,with a headdress or helmet. At the base of the face there is drapery decorated with incised grooves. The face is fairly worn with oval eyes, moulded nose and mouth. The headdress terminates in a circular loop which would have allowed the handle to be attached to the vessel at a 45 degree angle. An incomplete Roman copper-alloy mount dating to circa AD 100-300. The lower half is crescentic (or pelta) with inverted rounded knops on each terminal, leading to a break. The reverse is concave with a copper allloy rivet projecting from the lower elements of the mount.
The mount is similar to Bishop and Coulston 1993L pg 156, no 9 and a number recorded on the PAS database including SF-7B39DD; OXON-998CA4; BM-B5D6AB; BH-59AF9D and SOM-1F75EF5. The example in Bishop and Coulston was recovered from Cirencester and believed to be associa…

An incomplete copper-alloy anthropomorphic probable mount of probable medieval (or possible post-medieval) date. It takes the form of a male helmeted head with a rough break across its lower end. The outer face is moulded with the outline of a simple helmet across the top of the head and down each side as far as the ears and crescentic moulding covering the mouth, while the eyes and nose are defined with simple lines. The reverse of the object is concave. The metal has the red-brown patina more typical of post-medieval objects.

A complete copper-alloy late medieval to post-medieval shield-shaped mount. It is shield-shaped with a raised ridge running longitudinally down the centre of the outer face - the same ridge concave to its reverse. To either side of this the outer face is decorated with alternating wide diagonal ridges and recesses, the recesses filled with cross-hatching - probably an armorial design. There are small circular attachment holes in the centre of the lower end and to either side of the upper end - the latter two filled with iron corrosion.

It is a narrow strip shape with a complete terminal to one end, a break at the other end and a hooked section projecting at a right-angle from the outer face towards the break. The terminal consists of a rounded knop pierced with a small circular hole and a longer knop projecting from the centre of its outer end. An incomplete lead-alloy mount. The mount is lozenge in shape. Its outer face is decorated with a central raised pellet with a border of pellets around the outer edge. A broken integral ug projects from the centre of the reverse. The surface of the metal is hevaily corroded.
A similar shaped mount excavated in London is decorated with dots and has been dated c. 1270-1450 (Egan & Pritchard 1991: 200, fig. 125, ref: 1080).

An incomplete gilded copper-alloy mount, badge or button of post-medieval date. The object is mnoulded in the form of the upper half of a cherub, wings outstretched with a ribbon-like strand of foliage emerging to either side of the lower end. In the centre of the reverse is the inner remains of an attachment loop. Traces of gilding can be seen on the outer face.
The style and construction suggest an 18th or 19th century date.

An incomplete copper-alloy post-medieval to modern mount. The object is oval in shape and made from pressed sheet metal indicating a relatively modern date. The outer face has a convex section in the centre with moulded loop-like petals radiating outwards from it and a raised border around the outer edge decorated with moulded pellets. The centre of the reverse is concave with a raised cylindrical projection in the middle, which appears to have been longer originally. The object is slightly bent out of shape.

An incomplete copper-alloy post-medieval mount. The object is an elaborate sexfoil shape. The reverse is concave in the centre and the outer face convex in the centre, while the outer edge is flattened. The outer face is divided into six lobes by lines radiating outwards from the centre. Each lobe has a pointed outer end that projects slightly. To the reverse there are the remains of two integral, sharp, outwards pointing lugs at opposite sides. These lugs, together with the reddish patina seen in places, indicate a post-medieval date.

It is an elaborate oval shape with foliate mouldings along each side, a small knop projecting from the lower end and a larger double knop from the upper end. An incomplete copper alloy Roman vulvate mount. It consists of an irregularly shaped plate with damage to its edges obscuring the original shape, with a raised oval boss in the centre, decorated with a v-shaped groove running longitudinally down its centre. These raised bosses are typically interpreted as stylised vulvae. To the reverse an integral rivet terminating in an expanded disc projects from either end and there is a concave indentation in the centre to the rear of the boss. The surface of the metal is corroded and the breaks are well worn.
