Description: An incomplete cast silver mount in the form of a cinquefoil with an internal iron attachment lug dating to the Medieval period, c. 1300-1500. The mount takes the form of a five-petalled flower, with each petal separated from its neighbour on each side by a smaller sub-triangular section that demonstrates engraved cross-hatched decoration and gilding, giving a two-tone effect between these and the 'petals' themselves. It is heavily domed and broadly conical in profile, with the remains of a circular-sectioned iron attachment lug still present- now concreted into the apex o…

A gilded silver mount of early medieval date. It is roughly oval-shaped and the front depicts a human mask flanked by stylised birds' heads. Substantial gilding survives across the front surface, with areas missing or worn off on the mask's brow and nose, and the outer border above the brow. The mask appears to wear a hood or head-dress which covers the hair and runs below the chin. In the centre is a triangular stamped motif with a central 'trunk' and several 'branches' on each side. Traces of additional stamps are now obscured by wear and damage. The mask's eyes are pellets set w…

A silver object, possibly a finial, which appears to have been cut from the object rather than broken off. The end is in the form of a stylised flower with six evenly sized petals. The shaft is hexagonal in section and there are two collars separating a widening of the shaft towards the end. It has been suggested that this might be from a spoon or fork, but no parallel has been identified.
