A Post Medieval copper-alloy medal of Caroline of England dating to AD 1820. Obverse: Veiled bust left. Obverse inscription: [ACKNOWLEDGED QUEEN OF ENGLAND CAROLINE. Reverse: MILAN PLOT BLASTED BY JUSTIC, INNOCENCE TRIUMPHANT OVER TYRANNY AND OPRESSION.  This medal celebrates the withdrawl of the Pains and Penalties Bill on November 10th 1820, an unpopular attempt by George IV to divorce Queen Caroline. A silver 'British War Medal' dating c. 1918-1920, awarded to Private Harry Thomas Hogg of the Queen's (Royal West Surrey) Regiment. A lead fragment of an object which is likely to be related to 18th century commorative medals, see SWYOR-2ECA62, possibly associated with Admiral Vernon. The fragment consists of the lower third of a circular flat disc with a shaft projecting from the centre of the lower edge of this. The disc fragment measures 33mm in surviving width and c20mm in height. On one face, presumably the front face, there is the moulded torso of a man with one arm bent holding a sword at the ready, it appears to be a man in the mist of a sword fight.
